I\u2019ve seen a few people do a wrapped style post to mark the end of 2025, this will be a bit more free flowing as I\u2019ve not kept track of any stats or statistics! For my work, December 2025 doesn\u2019t really feel like an end, it\u2019s a vague midpoint between what\u2019s happened this year and my plans for next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the start of 2025, I became fully self-employed. It\u2019s been a big adjustment, but it\u2019s what I\u2019ve wanted for a long time. I have a more flexible schedule and the ability to be my own boss, which suits me massively. It\u2019s given me time to look after myself, more time to spend with loved ones and plenty more time for fun music projects. It\u2019s a big contrast to 2024, in which I was working full time as a sixth-form music technician, touring at the weekend, teaching guitar, studying for an MA and producing (and heading straight for burnout!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2025, I\u2019ve completed 2 UK tours, produced lots of music and studied hard for my ongoing master\u2019s degree. But most importantly, I\u2019ve met and reconnected with so many great musicians. I\u2019ve been inspired by those around me and have accessed a deeper and more complex love for music, production and sound engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This December, I finished my third UK tour as sound engineer with Let Me In, performing \u2018An Evening of Pink Floyd\u2019. It\u2019s been a crazy few months and I\u2019ve had the joy to mix music that is very special to me. The tour certainly presented some challenges, but I\u2019ve been left with an immense sense of gratefulness for being involved and pride in how I mixed the show. I\u2019m feeling super energised to get back on the road with the next tour in January, returning to our roots of \u2018An Evening of Radiohead\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What does next year hold for me? Well I\u2019m going to keep it a bit vague. I\u2019ve got grand plans \u2013 it\u2019s just how my brain operates. Self-employment has given me plenty of free time and I believe I\u2019ve got a responsibility to use it and find my next adventure in music production and sound engineering. For now, I hope everyone has a peaceful Christmas and a happy new year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
